  • We conduct a PREVIEW of your auction, with staff on hand.
  • We maintain a computer DATA BASE of over 2,000 bidders for MAILINGS.
  • All of our CLERKS and CASHIERS have a minimum of 2 yrs. experience.
  • We sell estate vehicles and handle vehicle TITLE work, if applicable.
  • We provide CREDIT CARD SERVICES for convenience of customers, ie; VISA, M/C, Discover Card.
  • All of our employees are covered by WORKMAN’S COMP & NYS DISABILITY INSURANCE as required by NYS Law.
  • We arrange for FOOD CATERING SERVICE at no cost to you.
  • We arrange for portable TOILETS, if necessary, for on-site auctions.
  • We provide PAPERWORK, CLERKING SHEETS, and PA SYSTEM. We also execute ABSENTEE BIDS on behalf of Bidders who can’t be present.

Tips on what to do when you are faced with liquidating an estate or raising money with an auction:

  • Appraisals need to be done for insurance reasons, estate liquidations, divorce, charitable donations, and for other legal reasons. Hire an accredited appraiser who belongs to at least one organization that mandates training and maintains high standards for membership. A good appraisal should conform to IRS standards and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
  • Give yourself enough time to do a good job. A tag sale can take 10 days to turn around, while an antique auction requires a longer lead time, in part to secure design and place the best advertising and marketing to profile the objects.
  • When organizing a charity auction, do not accept junk. Ann shares an example of a private school's well-known annual sale which, before she was called to run it, wasted thousands of dollars to dispose of items that never sold, basically because it was donated trash. So, just say no to donations of broken appliances, damaged furniture, used clothing and books - unless it's a rare book or the threads have a celebrity connection.
  • Consider the computer. Ann says a current trend is for entrepreneurial individuals of all ages - but especially seniors - to buy at auctions and sales with the intention of going online to resell at a profit.
